Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how OculaVera ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information Collection and Use

OculaVera is designed to operate primarily on your local device. The application requires access to certain device hardware and features to provide its core functionality (capturing media and managing settings).

Device Permissions

To provide the Service, we may request the following permissions:

  • Camera & Microphone: Required to capture photographs and record video/audio.
  • Storage / Media: Required to save captured media to your device and display preview thumbnails.
  • Sensors: Required to access device orientation and movement data to provide image stabilization and UI rotation features.
  • Media Location: Depending on your device's operating system, this permission may be required to properly manage media files within your gallery.

The data processed by these sensors and permissions is kept locally on your device for the purpose of generating your media files.

Metadata (EXIF)

When you capture photographs, the application may write standard EXIF metadata (such as ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture) into the image file. You can adjust the level of metadata recorded through the application's settings. We do not automatically embed precise geolocation data (GPS coordinates) into your media files.

2. Data Transmission and Third Parties

At present, OculaVera does not transmit your personal data, media, or usage logs to our servers. All processing and storage of your photographs and videos occur locally on your device.

We may use third-party libraries or frameworks to facilitate our Service. While our current implementation does not integrate external analytics or tracking software, future updates may include standard diagnostic or operational services to improve app stability. Any such integration will be subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

3. Compliance with Data Protection Laws

Depending on your geographic location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data under applicable data protection laws. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Europe & UK: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
  • United States: State-specific privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
  • Global Frameworks: Other international regulations such as Canada's PIPEDA, Brazil's LGPD, and equivalent data protection laws in your jurisdiction.

Since OculaVera processes media locally on your device and does not collect, sell, or transmit personal identifying information to our servers, we act merely as the provider of the software tool. You maintain full ownership and control over the media generated by the Service.

4. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
